Best graffiti games in 2026: from browser to VR

The best graffiti game in 2026 depends on what you want. For realistic painting on subway trains with no download, play TrainWars in your browser. For action and movement, play Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. For painting in virtual reality, play Kingspray Graffiti or Graffism VR.
Graffiti games split into two families. Action games use graffiti as a move inside a bigger game: you skate, climb, run from the police and tag as you go. Graffiti simulators put the paint itself at the centre: can control, caps, drips, layers and the finished piece. This list covers both, so you can pick what fits how you want to play.

1. TrainWars: best for painting trains, no download
TrainWars is a 3D graffiti game that runs in your web browser. You walk around a full-size subway train, pick colours and caps, and paint it with a spray can. Paint is simulated drop by drop: hold the can still and it pools and drips, pass again and the colour builds up, use a fat cap from far away and you get soft overspray.
There are yards and tunnels in Stockholm, Berlin, Oslo and Paris, each with its own train. When the piece is done, you take a flash photo of it, like a writer with an analog camera, and keep it in your blackbook. It is free to play, with a one-time Full Game unlock for extra maps, Chrome, Gold, Copper and Tar black finishes, and more tools.
Pick it if: you want the feeling of painting a whole train, you are on a laptop or desktop, or you do not own a VR headset. Read more: how the TrainWars paint works.
2. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk: best graffiti action game
Released in August 2023 by Team Reptile, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is the modern successor to Jet Set Radio. You skate, grind and trick across a cel-shaded city and tag spots to take territory from rival crews. Graffiti is drawn with quick gestures, not painted freehand.
Pick it if: you want style, music and movement more than paint control.
3. Jet Set Radio: the classic
Sega's Jet Set Radio launched on the Dreamcast in 2000 and made graffiti a game mechanic for a whole generation. It still looks great because of its cel-shaded style. Tagging is done with joystick motions.
Pick it if: you want to play the game that started it.
4. Marc Ecko's Getting Up: the story game
Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure (2006) follows the young writer Trane through the city of New Radius, where the government bans free expression. It mixes fighting, climbing and stealth with a deep tagging system, and it was refused classification in Australia for promoting graffiti. It has a cult following today. We wrote about it here: what Getting Up got right.
Pick it if: you want a story about why writers paint.
5. Kingspray Graffiti: the VR reference
Kingspray Graffiti, from Infectious Ape, is one of the first serious VR graffiti simulators. You hold the can in your hand, and the game simulates drips, metallic paint and caps. It has multiplayer and a range of locations, including a train yard.
Pick it if: you own a VR headset and want to paint with your arm.
6. Graffism VR: the new VR simulator
Graffism VR from VRiteLabs came to Meta Quest in July 2025 and entered Early Access on Steam in September 2025. It has spray cans, markers and a fire extinguisher, a home gallery and avatar customisation, with multiplayer and more locations planned. We compared it with TrainWars in detail: TrainWars vs Graffism VR.
Pick it if: you have a headset and want a simulator that is still growing.
7. Graffiti Simulator: walls, trains and a career
Graffiti Simulator (2024, Windows PC), by That Guy's Games, lets you move from city to city and paint walls, trains, garages and stations as you grow as an artist.
Pick it if: you like a progression loop around your painting.
How to choose
- No VR, no download: TrainWars.
- Action and music: Bomb Rush Cyberfunk or Jet Set Radio.
- Story: Getting Up.
- Paint with your arm in VR: Kingspray Graffiti or Graffism VR.
All of these let you paint without the risks of real trespassing. That is a big part of why graffiti games exist: you get the craft and the feeling, and nobody gets hurt on the tracks.
